National Cadet Corps Day

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the biggest uniformed youth organisation in the world. It was founded in 1948, and on November 27, 2022, celebrated its 74th anniversary.

Objective

On November 26, 2022, at the National War Memorial in New Delhi, Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane lay a wreath and paid tribute to the fallen heroes on behalf of the entire NCC community to commemorate this day.

Celebrations

All state capitals also observe the NCC Raising Day, with cadets taking part in cultural events, marches, and social development initiatives.

National Cadet Corps

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a voluntary military cadet corps administered by the Union Ministry of Defence that was established in 1948 after independence and is open to both school and college students.

Important Fact  about Day

NCC Day is marked on the 4th Sunday of November since the NCC was established on July 15, 1948, in New Delhi, which fell on the 4th Sunday of November that year.

Expansion of NCC

In every area, NCC cadets have left a significant and enduring mark. By accepting more than a lakh new cadets in recent years, the NCC has also expanded into the country's coastline and border regions.

Youth Exchange Programmes

By sending its cadets overseas as part of Youth Exchange Programs (YEP) to more than 25 countries, the NCC has also served as a platform for leveraging international ties for more than four decades.

Through their outstanding accomplishments in sports and adventure, numerous cadets have brought honour to the country and the organisation. The NCC offers youth special opportunities for self-development through its numerous programmes and diverse curriculum
