UPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2024
The UPSC Mains or CSE (Main) structure underwent a revision in 2015. By the updated format, UPSC Mains 2024 will consist of nine theory papers, all of which are essay-descriptive type. Among these, seven papers contribute to merit ranking. Additionally, candidates are required to select one optional subject for the UPSC Mains, details of which will be discussed later in this article. The total marks for the UPSC Mains exam amount to 1750 (7 papers * 250 marks each). Each paper has a duration of three hours.
