After the UPSC Mains Result, 2023 is announced, qualified candidates will proceed to the next stage of the Civil Services Examination, which is the “Interview” round. The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) interview round is the final and crucial stage of the Civil Services Examination in India.

UPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2023

The UPSC Mains or CSE (Main) structure underwent a revision in 2015. By the updated format, UPSC Mains 2023 will consist of nine theory papers, all of which are essay-descriptive type. Among these, seven papers contribute to merit ranking. Additionally, candidates are required to select one optional subject for the UPSC Mains, details of which will be discussed later in this article.

The total marks for the UPSC Mains exam amount to 1750 (7 papers * 250 marks each). Each paper has a duration of three hours.
