UPSC Geo-Scientist Age Limit

The applicant for the UPSC Geo-Scientist Combined Exam 2023 must meet the age requirements specified in the official announcement. The following post serves as the basis for the age requirements:

  • The applicant must be between the ages of 21 and 32 in order to be considered for the position of Geologist, Geophysicist, and Chemist in the Ministry of Mines.
  • The Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) position in the central ministry of water resources requires applicants to be between the ages of 21 and 35
  • The upper age limit will be relaxed for candidates who fall within the reserved category. The following table lists the items:

UPSC Geo-Scientist Age Relaxation

For all applicants to all positions, the minimum age requirement is the same. The General Category candidates are exempt from the upper age limits indicated above. Candidates from reserved categories and others are given some relaxations.

  • Any candidate requesting a relaxation under one of the aforementioned categories needs to provide supporting documentation or proof of eligibility.
  • A candidate with PwBD will receive a cumulative relaxation of both categories if they also fall under one of the other 5 categories of relaxation.
  • Only individuals eligible under the Ex-servicemen Rules, 1979, with the most recent revision, are referred to as “Ex-servicemen.”
  • Candidates with qualifying disabilities must meet the physical and medical requirements for employment during the physical examination conducted by the authorities in charge of the exam.
  • When determining whether an applicant meets the age requirement, the date of birth listed on the secondary or upper secondary certificate will be considered. Except for the relaxation, no alterations or other relaxation shall be tolerated.
  • People whose dates of birth on their application do not match those on their certificates will face harsh disciplinary measures.
