UPSC ESE 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

• The candidate must be:
  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to permanently settle in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam intending to settle in India.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must hold a B.E./B.Tech degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized institution.

Age Limit (as of January 1, 2025)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years
• Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, etc.).
