Some Important Sports Cups and Trophies
Here are some notable trophies and cups from various competitions and sports:
Ranji Trophy
In the domestic cricket championship, the Ranji Trophy was used. Teams from various Indian states and regions compete in it. The Indian cricketer Ranjitsingh Ji, who has competed internationally, is honoured with the name of the Ranji Trophy. The Ranji Cricket Tournament is played by a total of 38 teams. On November 4th, 1934, Madras and Mysore played their first game.
Aga Khan Award
Aga Khan III established the first Agha Khan Trophy in 1926. The jumping competition in Ireland is where this trophy was first given out. In the years 1926, 1927, and 1930, Switzerland claimed three Aga Khan Trophies.
Beighton Cup
One of the first cups in hockey history is the Beighton Cup. It was first run by Indian Football, but in 1905 the Calcutta Hockey League took it.
Davis Cup
After American college student Dwight Filley Davis, the Davis Cup was created. He coordinated the first tennis match between Great Britain and the United States. In 1990, the Davis Cup’s inaugural game was held. The International Lawn Tennis Trophy was the original name of the Davis Cup.
Dhyan Chand Award
Awarded for lifetime achievement in sports is the Dhyan Chand Award. The Indian hockey player Dhyan Chand, commonly known as Hockey Magician, gets honoured with this honour. In his hockey career, he has scored more than a thousand goals. The Dhyan Chand Prize was presented for the first time to Shahuraj Birajdar (boxing), Ashok Diwan (hockey), and Aparna Ghosh (basketball) in 2002.
Thomas Cup
Sir George Thomas established the Thomas Cup in 1939 for a number of men’s international team tournaments to be run by the International Badminton Federation (IBF), of which Sir George Thomas served as president. The Team of Malaya won the first competition, which took place in 1948. Previously, these competitions were held every three years, but starting in 1982, they were held every two years. The most successful team is Indonesia, which has won the cup thirteen times.
FIFA World Cup
The most important international football competition, the FIFA World Cup, is played every four years. France is the current champion.
Super Bowl
The Super Bowl is the National Football League’s (NFL) annual championship game, which is played on the first Sunday in February. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the current champions.

Durand Cup
Established in 1888, the Durand Cup is an Indian football competition. Sir Mortimer Durand is honoured with the Durand Cup. In 1888, the Royal Scottish Fusiliers won the Durand Cup.
