Educational Qualification

• Law Degree: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.

RHC District JudgeAge Limit 

• Minimum Age: 23 years
• Maximum Age: 35 years
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS (Male): 5 years
  • Women (General Category): 5 years
  • SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS (Female): 10 years
  • Widows and Divorcees: No upper age limit
  • Persons with Disabilities: As per government rules

Additional Requirements

• Character Certificate: Candidates must submit a character certificate from their last attended educational institution or current employer.

RHC District Judge Exam Pattern 2024

The RJS Examination consists of three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview. Preliminary Examination

• Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
• Total Marks: 100
• Duration: 2 hours
• Subjects Covered:
  • Law: 70%
  • Test of Hindi and English language proficiency: 30%

Candidates must secure at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST category) to qualify for the Main Examination. Main Examination

• Type: Descriptive
• Total Marks: 300
• Duration: Each paper is 3 hours
• Subjects and Marks Distribution:
  • Paper I: Law: 100 marks
  • Paper II: Law: 100 marks
  • Paper III: Language (Essay, Translation, and Precis Writing)
    • Essay Writing in Hindi: 50 marks
    • Essay Writing in English: 50 marks
• Paper IV: Language (Grammar and Translation):100 marks
  • Translation of passages in Hindi to English: 25 marks
  • Translation of passages in English to Hindi: 25 marks
  • English Grammar: 25 marks
  • Hindi Grammar: 25 marks

To qualify for the interview, candidates must secure at least 35% marks in each paper and 40% in aggregate (30% for SC/ST category). Interview

• Purpose: To assess the candidate’s overall personality, knowledge of law, communication skills, and suitability for a judicial career.

Final Selection

• The final merit list is prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Main Examination and Interview.
