Operation Brahma
The Government of India has launched Operation Brahma to provide Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) to Earthquake-hit Myanmar. This operation is being conducted under the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in coordination with the Integrated Defence Staff (IDS), Indian Army, Indian Air Force and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

Key Components of Operation Brahma
- Deployment of Specialized Teams: A 118-strong medical task force of the Indian Army’s elite Shatrujeet Brigade, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Jagneet Gill, was sent to deliver immediate medical assistance, such as trauma management and surgical procedures.
- Airborne Relief Efforts: The Indian Air Force deployed C-130J aircraft to transport around 15 tons of relief material to Yangon. Relief material transported included tents, blankets, ready-to-eat meals, water purifiers, and critical medicines.
- Naval Support: The Indian Navy sent several ships—INS Satpura, INS Savitri, INS Karmuk, and IN LCU 52—each with a total of 52 tons of relief material, including vital clothing, food, medicines, and emergency stock.
