• Niveshak Didi Initiative is a financial literacy initiative for training rural women as financial educators.
• Its first phase was launched in November 2022.
• Launched by: Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), in collaboration with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).
• It was launched under the Financial Literacy Week initiative of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It aims to empower rural women by educating them about financial products, digital banking, and financial planning.
• Under this initiative, Women postal workers and community leaders are trained to become “Niveshak Didis”, who act as local financial educators.

About Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA)

• IEPFA is a statutory body established under the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs, as per the Companies Act 2013.
• It was established to promote investor education and protect investors’ interests.

• Women-Led Awareness: The initiative is led by trained women agents of IPPB, also known as Niveshak Didis, who explain financial concepts in local languages and culturally relatable ways.
• Focus Areas: It covers topics like savings, insurance, investments, banking services, and digital fraud prevention.
• Empowerment Goal: Encourages rural women to make informed financial decisions and become financially independent.
• Community Outreach: Conducted through village-level camps, door-to-door outreach, and interactive sessions to ensure wider participation.
