JPSC Exam Pattern 2024
The 2024 Combined Civil Service Exam conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) follows a three-stage pattern:
- Preliminary Examination:
- Consists of two objective-type papers, each worth 200 marks.
- Duration of two hours for each paper.
- Question papers are available in both Hindi and English.
- Main Examination:
- Comprises six descriptive-type papers, each worth 150 marks.
- Each paper has a duration of three hours.
- Personality Test:
- Carries 100 marks.
The JPSC syllabus, accessible on the JPSC website, covers various topics such as Social Sciences, Indian Constitution and Polity, Economic growth and structure of Jharkhand’s economy, Demographic features of Jharkhand, and the status of poverty, unemployment, food security, malnutrition, education, and health indicators in Jharkhand.
To be eligible for the Main Examination, candidates must obtain a minimum of 30 marks out of 100 in Paper-I. However, marks secured in Paper-I are not considered for the merit list for the interview or the final merit list.
The expected minimum qualifying marks for the 2024 JPSC exam are as follows:

- SC/ST and females: 32%
- EBC: 34%
- BC: 36.5%
