Introduction

• Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric-enabled digital service for pensioners introduced by the Government of India in 2014.
• It modernizes the process of life certificate submission, making it easier and more efficient for retirees.

Features

1. Digital Life Certificate (DLC):
   • Pensioners can generate their DLC online using biometric authentication.
   • The DLC is directly shared with the pension-disbursing authorities (e.g., banks, post offices).
2. Convenience:
   • Pensioners no longer need to visit banks or government offices physically to submit their life certificates.
3. Exclusions:
   • The facility is not available to:
     • Pensioners who have remarried or re-employed.

Submission Timeline

• Every year in November, pensioners are required to submit their life certificate to continue receiving their pension for the following year.
