Haryana HCS 2024 Exam Pattern

The Haryana Government has modified the format of the HCS prelims exam, which is at present in line with the UPSC IAS prelims exam because of the paper pattern and type of questions asked. The HPSC Exam Pattern has three stages:

• Preliminary Examination,
• Mains Examination and
• Personal Interview

• Prelims result based on General Studies Paper marks; CSAT paper is qualifying.
• Candidates need 33% marks on the CSAT paper.
• Negative Marking: 0.25 for each wrong answer
• Mode of Exam: Offline (Objective Multiple Choice Questions)

HPSC Civil Services Mains Exam Pattern

• 12 times the number of vacancies called for the Mains Examination.
• Candidates choose two optional subjects from 23 options.
• Mains is a descriptive exam with five conventional essay-type question papers.

HPSC HCS Interview

• Candidates scoring marks equal to or greater than the HCS cut-off marks are called for the personality test/interview.
• No interview call unless the candidate attains 45% marks in the aggregate of all main written question papers and 33% marks in Hindi and English question papers.
• Number of candidates called for the interview is three times the number of vacancies advertised.
