How Many Attempts for UPSC of General, OBC, SC/ST Age Limit

How Many Attempts for UPSC?

Candidates are only permitted to apply for the UPSC CSE Exam a certain number of times, according to the UPSC Eligibility requirements. To execute a suitable strategy and succeed, each applicant must be aware of their maximum number of attempts. To pass the Civil Services Examination, students should seek to take the UPSC exam as few times as possible because each attempt is important. Candidates from general categories receive the fewest UPSC attempts, at six, while those from SC/ST categories receive the most. Candidates must consider their UPSC Age limit in addition to their UPSC attempts. Otherwise, the efforts are useless. UPSC Attempts for General Category

The general category candidates only receive six UPSC attempts, as was already mentioned. Additionally, a 32-year-old maximum age is permitted. Candidates for the General Category must complete their six tries prior to attaining their maximum age.

UPSC Attempts for OBC Category

The upper age limit is relaxed for candidates who fall under the OBC category and for UPSC attempts. The OBC category’s nine attempts is the UPSC attempt limit. Additionally, the IAS Exam has a 35-year-old maximum age limit for applicants of the OBC.

UPSC Attempt Limit for SC/ST

Up till the upper age limit is attained, SC/ST applicants are eligible for an unlimited number of IAS attempts. The maximum age for SC/ST candidates is 37 years old. This implies that SC/ST candidates may submit as many applications as they choose up until the age of 37.

UPSC Attempts for Physically Handicapped (PwD)

Candidates who are physically disabled also receive a waiver on their maximum age restriction and the number of UPSC attempts. Candidates with physical disabilities in the general and OBC categories are given nine UPSC attempts. Physically challenged applicants from SC/ST categories are permitted an unlimited number of retakes until their maximum age is attained. The maximum age for physically disabled people is 42 years old.

The current UPSC civil services guideline allows a general category applicant six chances to take the civil services test and a maximum age of 32 years. Prior to a few years ago, the maximum age and the number of attempts was 26 years. There have been rumours that the UPSC may be lowering the maximum age and the number of permitted attempts. These unreal stories scare students and aspirants preparing for UPSC.
