What is G20?

Regional groups function as underlying elements that collectively reflect a shared vision, unity, shared prosperity, and multilateral friendliness in the field of international affairs. Twenty countries came together in 1999 to form what is now known as the G20.

The G20 was established as a result of the Asian financial crisis. The economies of these nations, which collectively attempt to coordinate and collaborate to develop global policies on topics like trade, health, climate change, economic crisis, and others, comprise the greatest economies in the world. G20 countries account for 80% of global economic production, 75% of exports, and 60% of global population.

History of G20 Summit

The forum focuses on advancing global cooperation, correcting economic imbalances, ensuring financial stability, and tackling issues that concern emerging nations.

G20 Summit 2024

The Group of Twenty (G20) will gather for the nineteenth time at the G20 Summit in 2024, also referred to as the Rio de Janeiro Summit. This will be the first G20 summit to be hosted in Brazil. For the G20 meeting in 2024, Brazil has set three primary agenda priorities:

• Social inclusion and the fight against hunger.
