FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023
The 2023 Women’s World Cup will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. In a vote by the FIFA Council on June 25, 2020, the island neighbours defeated Colombia 22–13. The enhanced 32-team competition, which will begin in July 2023, is eight more teams than the France-based 2019 edition. Twelve cities were offered in the winning bid, including seven in Australia and five in New Zealand. It contains the major stadium from the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023: Details
The current world champions, the United States, have been assigned to the competition’s Group E. The Netherlands, Portugal, and Vietnam are included in their group. Given that Portugal has recently made tremendous progress and that the Netherlands has consistently fared well in women’s football, this group is anticipated to be quite competitive. Vietnam will also contribute their distinctive flair to the contest.
The current European champions, England, were placed in Group D. They are a group made up of Haiti, China, and Denmark. England will be looking to show off their abilities and keep up their impressive run in international competitions. In women’s football, China and Denmark have historically been strong sides, and Haiti will be hoping to make an impression in their World Cup debut.

FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Facts
The 2023 competition will mark both the first co-hosted women’s World Cup and the first time a World Cup for men or women will be split between two continental organizations. Most of the nine UEFA voters, who were from the European soccer body, voted in favour of Colombia’s application. The Women’s World Cup, which was first held in 1991, has never been held in South America. Australia, the top-ranked women’s football team, and No. 23 New Zealand will both automatically qualify for the competition. One of the three bidders, Colombia, which is now ranked No. 25, was the only one to not be accepted for the 2019 tournament.
